Road Cycling

You’re never too far away from classic climbs anywhere in the Alps and Sauze is certainly no exception. With the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France making regular visits to the area you will not be short on options. Sauze d’Oulx was actually a stage finish in the 1986 Giro d’Italia with Irish man Martin Earley eventually taking the 236km stage win. More recently both grand tours have visited Sestriere, Bardonecchia, Claviere and Oulx. Climbs in the area within easy access of Sauze d’Oulx include the Col du Galibier, Col d’Izoard, Col du Telegraphe, Col du Monte Cenis and the Colle delle Finestre which was the Queens stage of the 2015 and 2018 Giro d’Italia. These are just a selection of some infamous climbs. The whole area though is packed with stunning rides just waiting for you to test yourself.
