So much for the Mayans

It’s quite obvious to all that lived through the supposed Armageddon, that the bloke in charge of scribing the future for the supposed enlightened Mayans either ran out of rock or simply couldn’t be bothered to write anything after the 21/12/12.

If he really had the foresight that some people thought he had, he would of seen a day of fantastical off piste coupled with corduroy pistes with hardly a soul to be seen. Lift queues?! Cor blimey, we were lucky to see a lifty let alone other adventurous soles brave enough to set forth on such a momentous day.

The on piste conditions were as good as it gets. Well groomed runs with good firm snow allowing you to ski with confidence. Off piste was a gem. You could ride the lift up spotting lines that for sure would have been tracked out if it were the height of season and yet, come mid afternoon we were still skiing powder close to the runs.

If this is what the Mayans thought the end of the world was all about then I’m a convert.

The forecast for the coming week says that the temperature is going to go up slightly with the freezing point around 3400mts over the weekend. It is going to drop on Christmas day with snow then forecast for Christmas day night and boxing day continuing through to the 27th. Those that are coming out to spend Christmas with us then expect a white one.

Don’t forget, Christmas carols outside Moncrons bar at around 21.30 on christmas eve made all the sweeter by free mulled wine.

Hope to see you all there.
