Hi, I am new to the site. I spent a couple of seasons working in Sauze a few years back, so I know it's a great winter resort. However I am looking for a summer holiday for me, my husband, 5 month old daughter and dog.

What is the weather like (usually) around end of July / August? Are there many relatively cheap rental properties in Sauze, Jouvenceaux or Oulx that anybody knows of?

Hi, the best advice I can give you is to get yourself out there end of November beginning of December and get your face known. Not many places recruit in advance of the season. It can be seen as somewhat of a risk going out there with no guarantee of a job or somewhere to stay but as long as the snow arrives then so will the jobs. Prepare a cv, nothing special but a short resume that you can leave with bars and shops certainly wont harm your chances.

I will be asking businesses during the coming months if they have any vacancies for next winter and if so Ill be posting them on the sauzeonline facebook page so keep checking there or just become a fan and you'll receive auto notifications. I cant promise anything but it doesnt harm to ask. http://www.facebook.com/pages/.....9649850113

Thanks Benji, Have already sorted out ski hire and just did it straight through Crystal so unfortunately too late really to change it! Ive looked at some of the prices of hire with other companies and been quite socked at how expensive they were. Can't comment on the place you've recommended as not had a chance to look at them. Think we will prob just pay for a bus pass thing for the week as opposed to for lockers as the bus is cheaper and also where we have a mix of hire and own stuff it'll prob just be easier to do it that way!

We're flying from Bournemouth which is fantastic this year as it literally is no more than 10 minutes from my door. My BF also works on the airport for one of the companies there (sorry irrelevant info!) but it's going to be so much better than having to drive to london. The cost of the holiday going from bournemouth is prob slightly more expensive than heathrow or gatwick but the saving in driving, time, hassle, petrol to get there and parking is just going to be much more relaxing on the whole. Can't wait! Hope you have a great time - may catch you about at the hotel if you're there at the same time! Are you going with a group or in a couple?

Lesbell - thats a shame, will be interesting to hear other peoples thoughts when we return anyway. Have a great time too

Would like to ask if you could post with how you got on upon returning although may not be beneficial if I dont get to read it before we leave on the 21st! Still not got much idea on what best to do with lockers, storing boots, etc as it's not as simple as hire skis or having our own as we have a mix of our own boots with hire skis and own blades!

Were staying at the miravelle as well

Just to let you know that ski deposits charge you the same regardless of whether you've hired your equipment from them or not. Standard charge is €25 to store your skis and boots or blades. Hope that answers your question.

There are several places to pick from that offer ski and boot deposit. You can leave them in Sportinia but then you miss out on skiing back to the village. An alternative is the deposit at the bottom of the Clotes lift. This costs €25 for the week and can be booked in advance at http://www.sauzeonline.com/shop/

The main lift from Sauze to Sportinia allows non skiers to ride up and more importantly down. This is the best area for pedestrians as there are several restaurants.
