Shame we missed you last week, terrific time in Sauze. Pistes were beautiful and there was plenty of snow. An absolutely fantastic week that unfortunately passed way to fast! The cannons were firing on Saturday which were great fun to board through and improved the skiing even more!

Glad to see some fresh stuff coming down as I write this. Arriving on Sunday (8th) Staying in hotel martin, stayed there last year and enjoyed it! Whats the snow like down to the midway station on the Jouvenceaux lift… Can be very ropey down that way when the snow is scarce.. Bring on year 5 in sauze!!

By far the longest lift queus and the most congested pistes i’ve seen in the whole of europe. Lifts connecting out of sauze closed due to slight winds. What a terrific let down.

13 of us coming from scotland on feb 12th. We are staying at the miraville. can you tell me how best to get to slopes -bus/walk. Also the best place to store gear skis/boots on the hill

Two weeks tomorrow! And we’ll be snowboarding down those runs! Can’t wait, we’re all overwhelmed with excitement and looking forward to coming over from the UK. Thanks for the updates James, incredibly useful blog – keep up the good work. Maybe we’ll even get to meet you? Who knows?!

Is it me or is Sauze trying to rid itself of beginners? I say so as now there is no easy way of getting ‘Blue/Green’ skiers from Clotes to Sportinia base without dropping down run 11 alta, which is some other resorts would be classed as near black. They did the same a few years ago when they made Sestriere virtually inaccessible (27 is a race track with steep drops) by closing the old gondola route. Think they need to cut a new blue from top of 11 alta to Sportinia base.

Doesn’t this also mean that lift 6 to Sportinia will now be an overloaded main lift and that clotes (apart from home time) and genervris slopes will become very sparsely used as no easy route back to Sportinia?

Not looking forward as much now to my 2012 visit as the resort for many (including my wife) has got a lot smaller (and I suspect busier on fewer slopes) with the new lift layout…..
